Note that all new, incoming students receive seven (7) days of additional UC SHIP coverage prior to the start of their academic term at no additional cost. Therefore, UC SHIP coverage for incoming graduate students on the regular quarter system begins 9-16-2024. Incoming MAT students (Master of Arts in Teaching) students who are attending the 2024 Summer Session will pay a prorated 2023-24 GSHIP premium of $1,481.78 in addition to the Fall premium of $2,280.80 for the coverage period of 6-17-2024 through 1-1-2025.

How Do UC SHIP Fees Appear on the Student’s Campus Billing Account?

For UCI general accounting purposes, the UC SHIP fees will appear on the student’s campus billing or “Zot” account segregated into three components: 1) ADMIN fee; 2) PREMIUM fee; and 3) BROKER fee. The combined fees will match the total fees as shown above for the respective student group and academic term.
